One of the project's lead researchers explains what could be next in EANS Research

Threestones is increasing its commitment to brain-health innovation through an additional donation to EANS research.

This renewed contribution strengthens a collaboration that began in 2024 and reflects the Foundation’s long-term commitment to addressing one of the most urgent challenges facing aging populations: the rising impact of falls and trauma-related brain injuries among older adults.

Led by neurosurgeon and researcher Professor Christian Schaller, the EANS initiative brings together leading institutions — including EPFL, the University of Geneva, and HUG — to advance understanding of how trauma affects the aging brain and to develop innovative strategies that help older people live more safely and confidently.

The Foundation’s additional funding will support:

  • Expanded data collection and clinical analysis

  • Development of new prevention and early-detection tools

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration across Europe

  • Public-awareness initiatives to reduce avoidable injuries among seniors

This donation aligns with the Threestones Foundation’s broader mission to promote dignity, safety, and meaningful quality of life for older adults.

Further updates on research progress and related community initiatives will be shared in the months ahead.
