Covid Mask Supply
Bringing vital protection over hurdles and across borders
Protecting Lives When It Mattered Most
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic — when global supply chains were collapsing and protective equipment was scarce — the Threestones Foundation mobilised its international network to secure 50,000 high-quality surgical masks from trusted partners in Taiwan. At a time when transportation routes were blocked and borders heavily restricted, this effort became both urgent and extraordinarily complex.

A Mission of Persistence and Solidarity
What began as a straightforward procurement rapidly turned into a logistical challenge. Flights were cancelled, export rules changed week by week, and customs requirements tightened across continents. Yet through sustained coordination, perseverance, and collaboration with health authorities and logistics teams, the Foundation successfully navigated each obstacle. The shipment reached Europe safely, overcoming delays, inspections, and regulatory hurdles that made every step feel uncertain.

Support Delivered Across Europe
Once cleared, the masks were distributed to care facilities and frontline organisations in Italy, Germany, and Spain — regions facing severe shortages at the time. These deliveries provided essential protection for medical staff, caregivers, and vulnerable older adults, helping to maintain services and safeguard lives during one of the most challenging periods in recent history.

Even without fanfare, this project reflects the Foundation’s core commitment: to act swiftly, compassionately, and pragmatically in service of those who need it most.
